Hey there! I'm Jeff Lantry, Chief Tech here at My Radiology Exam Explained. I've been a Radiologic Technologist for a little over 25 years now. When I first started in Radiology, we were still running film through developer and processing chemicals. Now we see everything almost instantly on a monitor very similar to your computer screen or TV. So much has changed in our field over the past decades that it's hard for many healthcare professionals to comprehend exactly how we do what we do. Many years ago when doctors were not as specialized as they are today, they had more time for their patients and could try to explain what they were sending you for. In our current healthcare situation, doctors have very little time for their patients, let alone time to learn all about our complex examinations enough to explain them in detail. Over time I noticed many of my patients showed up for their exam upset, apprehensive and scared about exactly what was going on because no one had explained to them exactly what they would be doing.
Those days are over.
Technology has afforded us so many avenues of communication that the time has come to step up our game and really put the "care" back in healthcare. Never before has a service provided the opportunity to speak with a Radiologic Technologist at your convenience and we here at My Radiology Exam Explained are thrilled to be on the cutting edge! Please feel free to check back here for information, updates, personal stories and opportunity to ask questions that you have about Diagnostic Imaging and Radiolgy any time you'd like! I'm looking forward to speaking with you and sharing my knowledge to help alleviate your fears and concerns.
